Online Lawyer Marketing That Gets Noticed and Gets ResultsDear Vaidas, As you know, our contract with Findlaw is nearing its first anniversary. As you forecast, our website and Findlaw have been a resounding success. In fact, I average two to four inquiries per day. While all of these inquiries do not result in cases we take, they have resulted in a significant number of cases which we are now in the process of handling and which we expect to conclude periodically starting next year. Based upon my experience with Findlaw, not only do I want to recommit for the next year, but I would like to limit my geographical areas as I simply cannot effectively represent the number of clients from whom we are receiving these daily inquiries. The quality of cases which we have received through our website and Findlaw listings is excellent. Please do not interpret my wanting to restrict myself geographically to any dissatisfaction with Findlaw. Rather, it is a realization that I just want to be extremely careful in spreading myself too thin give the volume of contacts we are receiving. The result from launching the first, and then revised website has been tremendous. While our local business historically has been generated by "word of mouth", the impact of the website has increased our business by over 25 percent, maybe more. We have received a large quantity of consults from out of state and overseas that would not otherwise "come our way" but for the website. I would be as bold to say that probably three out of every four inquiries from Findlaw result in retaining our services. As you also know, due to the success of the Findlaw site, we decreased our Yellow page ad when we renewed the yellow page ad for 2006 and saved 186 percent on our monthly ad. (Yes, I said 186 percent) But for Findlaw, we would continue to be at the mercy of monthly yellow page billing. I really appreciate your assistance over the past two years, and the great work done by the marketing team in putting both sites together. We added two new practice areas last year at your suggestion and these have paid off with new clients and contacts. I really appreciate your interest in the firms success and always returning calls.
